C. Preston Shackelford has

a State Bar of California Certified
Legal Specialist in Family
Law, Ms. Shackelford regularly
handles a broad range of matters
relating to clients’ family
lives including pre-nuptial
agreements, marital dissolutions,
child custody, spousal and
child support, complex property
division and business valuations.
She has developed a special
expertise in cases where business
or professional practice ownership
is an issue in dissolutions.
In
every case, Ms. Shackelford
works to resolve matters
through negotiation, but
when court action is necessary,
she is an effective advocate.
When appropriate, she will
serve as a mediator or refer
clients to mediation. She
believes that the interests
of children take priority
in family law matters.
Ms.
Shackelford received her
B.A. from the State University
of New York, and her J.D.
from Boalt Hall School of
Law, University of California,
Berkeley. She joined Coombs & Dunlap,
LLP in 1974.
Ms. Shackelford's
community work has focused
on the schools, women's issues,
and the environment. In her
spare time, she enjoys time
spent with her family, as
well as sailboat racing,
hiking, skiing, and being
