Jessica Berlat has a broad range of legal experience, having represented clients in civil litigation, workers’ compensation and family law matters. Ms. Berlat began her career working for a well-established civil litigation firm in San Francisco where she represented both corporate entities and individuals in matters including property disputes, landlord/tenant litigation, and complex personal injury litigation. Prior to joining Coombs and Dunlap, Ms. Berlat was an associate for a statewide law firm where she represented employers, third party administrators, and insurance carriers in employment and workers’ compensation matters.
Ms. Berlat received her Juris Doctorate from Golden Gate University School of Law, graduating with highest honors in the top 4% of her class as a member of the Jesse Carter Society, and with a specialization certificate in litigation. While in law school, Ms. Berlat served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Magistrate Judge Elizabeth D. Laporte of the United States District Court. She also served as Executive Research Editor and Staff Writer for the Golden Gate University Law Review.
In her spare time, Ms. Berlat enjoys hiking, traveling and exploring the Bay Area with her two sons.
