After a remarkable 53 years of service at Coombs & Dunlap, Malcolm Mackenzie retired from the practice of law in 2023. During his tenure, the Firm experienced great success, expanding into a variety of practice areas, and opening a second office in St. Helena. Mr. Mackenzie had a robust practice in the fields of estate planning and administration, trust and probate disputes, land use, real estate, family law, and litigation. He successfully prevailed in numerous court and jury trials over the course of his career, and he was instrumental in building Coombs & Dunlap into the premiere law firm that it is today.

Mr. Mackenzie moved to the Napa Valley with his family in 1970 to join Coombs & Dunlap, and has been active in many church, school, and community activities.

Mr. Mackenzie has served as President of the Napa County Bar Association, City Attorney for the cities of Napa and Calistoga, President of the Richard M. Sangster Inn of Court, and President of the Board of Directors of the Episcopal Diocese of Northern California. He and his wife, Martha, are the parents of three daughters and enjoy travel and the outdoors.
